Ernest Johnson (#35) and Edith Field (#36)
Ernest was born on the 1st of May 1890 at 1 Court, Wellhead Lane, Perry Barr. He was the son of Harry Johnson and
Caroline Woodfield.
Edith was born on the 15th of August 1894 at 40 Malvern Hill Rd, Nechells, Birmingham. She was the daughter of
Thomas Durbin Field and Betsy Smallwood
They were married on the 28th of February 1921, in St. Clements' Church, Nechells.
Ernest was living at 82 Davey Road, Perry Barr at the time of their wedding.
Edith was at 40 Malvern Hill Rd.
They moved into 40 Padstow Road, Pype Hayes, Birmingham in (approx.) 1926.
Ernest had served in the army during the First World War and had been injured several times. At the time of their
wedding, his occupation was given as Tram conductor.
Edith was working as a secretary with Moore Abbot & Co. Ltd on Loveday Street, Birmingham at the time of her
wedding. She worked at Moss Gear, Chester Road, Pype Hayes from 1946 until she retired in 1955.
Edith died on the 23rd of November 1970 at 40 Padstow Road.
Ernest died on the 30th of June 1973 at the Cottage Hospital, Sutton Coldfield.
Ernest and Edith had one child
