John Field

John Field (#109) and Mary Masters (#110)

John was born in London around 1833 as his age was given in the 1871 census as 38.

Thomas's birth certificate shows his mother was Mary but in 1871 John was married to
Edith (#633). Edith was born in Hellidon, Northamptonshire around 1841.

John worked as a Master Cordwainer, which is an archaic term for a shoemaker or leather worker.
Edith also worked as a Cordwainer.

The 1871 census shows a 'visitor' called Ellen Burton, aged 23, from Hellidon, Northamptonshire.
