John Millington (#162) and Fanny Crossley (#163)
John was born circa. 1833 and was the son of John Millington (#612).
Fanny was born circa. 1835 and was the daughter of Richard Crossley (#614).
John and Fanny were married on 2nd August 1856 in the Parish Church of Leeds. John was aged
23 and Fanny was aged 21.
They were married, after banns, by E.V. Chappel and the witnesses were James Murphy and Ann
Crossley.
John was living in Barstow Building at the time of their marriage and Fanny was living in
Victoria Road. They were living at 6, Princes Place, Hunslet when Ann was born.
John's occupation was given on Ann's marriage certificate as Railway Guard. It is said that he
originally came from the Alrewas, Staffs area and moved to Leeds to work on the railways.
John and Fanny's children:
i Polly Millington (#294) was born about 1859 and married George Stevenson. They
kept a little shop in Elland Rd, Leeds.
ii Ann Millington (#106) was born on 18th April 1863.
iii Lizzie Millington (#164) was born circa 1864. It is said that she and one of her
sisters were twins. She had a child out of wedlock who died aged 1. She
subsequently married William Caudwell. They had no children. In later life she "lived
by the Railway" in Leeds.
