William White

William White (#271) and Sophia Henrietta Smoker (#272).

William was born on the 9th of April 1848 in Milbrook, Southampton.  William was the son of 
Henry White (#447) and Sarah Stoodley (#448).
Sophia was born on the 2nd of October 1851 in Lyndhurst and was baptised on the 28th of October 
1851 in Lyndhurst. Sophia was the daughter of Edward Smoaker (#405) and Mary Ann Robbins (#406).
It is interesting to note that the 1881 census gives Sophia's age as 27 when it should have 
been 30.

William and Sophia were married on the 2nd of June 1873, in Lyndhurst Parish Church. William
was married from Swathling, Hampshire.

William worked as a Blacksmith and built the blacksmiths shop in Portswood Road, South
Stoneham.  Their son William Garland later built an adjoining house.  On the 16th of April 1881
they were living at No. 1 Hestie Cottages, Portswood Road, South Stoneham.

William and Sophia's children:
